I am a PhD student at the University of Sheffield. My research is in the philosophy of mind, specifically the cognitive mechanisms that we use to understand our own minds and the minds of others. I take an interdisciplinary approach and use research from disciplines such as psychology, neuroscience and ethology to support my conclusions.
I believe that philosophy should not be confined to insular university departments and I aim to engage with the general public to promote philosophy wherever possible. To this end, I currently co-facilitate a philosophical discussion group called Get Real at the multi-faith centre at the University of Derby and I run a quarterly philosophy evening at QUAD arts centre in Derby city centre.

I also have an penchant for brutalist architecture. Have a look at my other blog Brutalist Constructions for some lovely visions in concrete
